I am writing this memo to you based on three principles:
(1) Life is unpredictable, and no one knows how long they will live. It is better to address certain things earlier.
(2) I am your father, and if I don't tell you, no one else will.
(3) The experiences recorded in this memo are the lessons I learned from painful failures. They can save you from unnecessary detours on your journey of growth.
The following are the things you should remember in your life:
(1) Don't worry too much about people who treat you poorly. In your life, no one is obligated to be good to you except for me and your mother. As for those who treat you well, besides cherishing and being grateful, please also be cautious. Everyone has a reason for their actions, and their kindness may not necessarily be because they like you. You must understand this and not quickly consider them as true friends.
(2) No one is irreplaceable, and nothing is a must-have. Once you understand this, when the people around you no longer need you or when you lose everything you love the most, you should realize that it is not a big deal.
(3) Life is short. Today, you may be wasting your life, but tomorrow you will realize that life has slipped away from you. Therefore, the earlier you cherish life, the more days you will enjoy it. Instead of hoping for a long life, it is better to start enjoying it sooner.
(4) There is no such thing as true love in the world. Love is just a fleeting feeling, and this feeling will definitely change with time and mindset. If your so-called true love leaves you, please patiently wait, let time slowly wash away the pain, and let your soul gradually settle. Your suffering will gradually fade away. Do not excessively fantasize about the beauty of love, and do not exaggerate the sadness of heartbreak.
