Introduction to Piped, an open-source YouTube mirror website. It is ad-free, tracking-free, lightweight, supports dark and light themes, 4K resolution, and PWA. It does not connect to Google services and is very friendly for users in China. I tried it myself and found that there is no content filtering, and it can be directly played on the telecom network. For other networks, you can test it yourself. This kind of YouTube mirror website can be recommended to classmates who have poor internet connection but need to use YouTube services.

Invidious is another YouTube mirror website that is open-source and does not require VPN. It supports multiple languages, does not require login, does not track, has no ads, and does not filter content. It also supports subscriptions and YouTube data import/export. I tried it and although it can be accessed, the playback speed depends on your internet connection since the server is located overseas. You can choose a server with decent speed.

LibreTube is an Android version of an open-source YouTube mirror software. It is essentially a third-party client for YouTube. However, this software can be directly connected to the internet in China. The interface is very clean, with no login or ads, and supports video quality above 1080p. It saves you from paying for a membership and is highly recommended for friends with poor internet connection in China. I searched and found that even though some accounts and content may be filtered for users in China, currently everything plays smoothly and it is low-profile.
